GOD IS GRACIOUS.
Our Heart for You and Our City
Pastors Luke and Leslie have served faithfully in ministry for over 20 years, carrying a deep love for people and a calling to build a church where everyone can find a place to belong.
Raised in the South Bay of San Diego, their heart has always been to see lives changed by the grace of God — strengthening families, inspiring faith, and leading people into a real, life-giving relationship with Jesus Christ.
With a passion for community and a vision that reaches beyond the walls of the church, they are committed to building a strong, faith-filled church that serves our city and extends hope far beyond it.
Their leadership is rooted in grace, shaped by faith, and driven by a desire to see people grow, heal, and walk boldly in their God-given purpose.
Our Story
Yohanna means “God is gracious.”
The Yohanna Foundation was born out of a passion to see the life-saving gospel of Jesus Christ reach the farthest corners of the world. That calling has led to ministry and mission work in India and Brazil, touching countless lives through the power of God’s Word.
Most recently, that vision expanded through the launch of a digital Bible app now serving over 300,000 users, creating new pathways for people around the world to encounter hope, truth, and grace in Jesus.
As the work continued to grow, so did the conviction that lasting impact requires local churches. Knowing the urgent need for church planting to reach more people, and under the pastoral leadership of Luke and Leslie Crosby, the Yohanna Foundation is now establishing its first church in the South Bay of San Diego. This church exists not only to serve our city, but to raise up men and women of God who will go on to plant churches, send missionaries, and lead ministries that bring lasting hope to communities near and far.
What began as a global mission is now taking root locally here in San Diego — with a vision to see faith flourish and lives transformed around the world.
Where We Are Going
This church is starting simply and intentionally — we are creating spaces where people can gather, feel known, and experience the love of God in a real and personal way.
Yohanna exists so individuals and families can find hope and salvation through finding and following Jesus, experience healing, and discover purpose for everything God has planned for their lives.
We are building a vibrant, life-giving community that goes beyond just being a friendly church — but creating a community where lasting friendships are formed, faith is strengthened, and everyone has meaningful opportunities to serve and make an impact in our city and beyond.
What to Expect
Our faith is shaped by the Word of God and the grace of Jesus Christ.
Scripture directs our lives, informs our decisions, and anchors everything we do. Yohanna is a fun, faith-filled church that believes God still does the impossible — and we pray boldly, live expectantly, and trust Him fully.
We love to serve, using the gifts God has placed within us to bless our communities and meet real needs. Here, people are encouraged and equipped to grow, step into their God-given purpose, and live authentic lives of faith — not striving in their own strength, but walking daily in the grace and power of God.
What We Believe
Discover the biblical truths that shape our faith, guide our lives, and define what we believe and teach.
-
We believe the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is inspired by God and is our final authority for faith, life, and practice.
-
We believe in one true God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — Creator of heaven and earth and Redeemer of humanity.
-
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, and now reigns at the right hand of the Father.
-
We believe humanity was created good but fell into sin, resulting in separation from God and the need for salvation.
-
We believe salvation is found only through Jesus Christ and is received by faith in Christ, by grace alone, resulting in a transformed life.
-
We believe the Church is the Body of Christ, called to worship God, grow in faith, and share the gospel with the world.
-
We believe in water baptism by immersion as a public declaration of faith and in communion as a remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice until He returns.
-
We believe all believers are empowered by the Holy Spirit, providing power for life, ministry, and mission.
-
We believe sanctification is a lifelong process of growing in holiness, made possible through identification with Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit.
-
We believe in a final judgment and the promise of a new heaven and a new earth where righteousness dwells.
